The monks perform a series of meticulously choreographed religion inspired dances wearing grand silk robes and exquisitely crafted mask. The three day event presents selection of age old Chaam which includes Dance of the Lords of the cremation ground and the theatrical presentation of the judgment day after a person dies which is quintessential to Buddhist beliefs.

Day 1
Arrive in Paro

Arrive in Paro

You will fly to Paro International Airport via Drukair or Tashi Airlines. Upon landing into the country, you will be received by your guide and driver who will accompany you for the rest of your trip in Bhutan.

Drive from Paro to Thimphu

Distance: 54 Km|Driving Time: 1 hour

Day 2
Visit to the Thimphu Tsechu

After breakfast you will be taken to visit the Masked Dance which is also the highlight of the tour. Locals dressed in their finest outfit gather at the Thimphu Tashichoedzong. You can also choose to go along with the crowd and wear the national dress with intricate patterns and vibrant colors. Day 3
Drive from Thimphu to Dochula

Drive from Thimphu to Dochula Distance: 31Km|Driving Time: 1 hour You will be driven to Dochula pass after breakfast which is located at an elevation of 3100 meters. After driving for one you reach the pass. The pass is decorated with 108 chortens and colorful prayer flags which is absolutely a beauty. After taking pictures and exploring the pass you will also visit the Druk Wangyal Lhakhang which is built on a small ridge overlooking the 108 chortens. The Lhakhang was built to honor the 4th king of Bhutan Jigme Singye Wangchuck. The highlight of this pass is the view from the pass. The view of the mighty Himalayan range far off in a distance is a treat for the onlookers.

Day 4
Drive back to Paro

Drive from Punakha to Paro Distance: 126.9 km Driving Time: 3 h. 25 min After breakfast you will be driven towards Paro but on the way you will visit the famous fertility temple. The temple known as Chimi Lhakhang is located at a village called Sopsokha right before reaching Lobesa. To reach the temple you will have to walk a short while through the green paddy fields. The walk is very refreshing and very calming as well. At Paro you will be taken to you hotel and after getting refreshed and having lunch you will be taken around for sightseeing. You will visit some important attractions like the Paro watch tower museum, the Paro Dzong, the Kyichu Lhakhang and also you will also be taken around the Paro town for some shopping or just to get some fresh air. After visiting these sites, you will be dropped off at your hotel for dinner and to rest. Places and attractions:

Day 5
Hike to Taktsang

hike to Taktshang is the perfect way to end your memorable journey through Bhutan. Tiger’s nest monastery is located on a cliff at over 900 meters above Paro valley. It will take 4 hours to reach the monastery from the base where you will be dropped off. The steep trail takes you through lush green diverse forest and prayer flags all the way guiding you. The monastery is credited to a Buddhist master Guru Rinpoche. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche flew to the site of the monastery riding atop a flying tigress and meditated in the cave for many years. The monastery still encloses the particular cave where Guru Rinpoche meditated. After completing the hike you will be again picked up from the Base and will be taken to your hotel.
